Reinvention, First Italian Boots & Impossible Daffodils
it’s sunday morning
Sunday, February 19th 2023 - Welcome to Issue 6 of our weekly email where we gather 3 style, wellness, travel or music links worth some time on a slow Sunday morning. Make a cup of coffee, find your favorite chair and cue the Velvet Underground…
“Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave”
ONE Reinvention
Is it ever too late to reinvent yourself?
In this video, Matt Berninger - frontman and lyricist from the indie rock band The National - talks about his previous life as an ad agency graphic designer and what helped him make the leap to full-time musician. (5 min video)
TWO First Italian Boots
The more you wear good boots the more beautiful they become.
Fiorentini + Baker have been hand making boots in Italy for over 20 years. They are relatively hard to get your hands on but when you do they’ll last a lifetime and get better with age. I bought a pair 15 years ago and they are still my go-to boots. This project from the Spazio Labò school of photography in Bologna, Italy tells the stories behind the first F+B’s for twenty customers. (3 min read)
THREE Impossible Daffodils
Spinning in the daffodils, dizzy from a dozen twirls.
Here’s an unexpected, impossibly difficult solo acoustic performance for your Sunday morning. Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Eagles of Death Metal, etc) plays "Spinning In Daffodils” in a garden on an old Gibson as part of the virtual Lollapalooza 2020 festivities.
