Guitar Moves, Turquoise Road Trip & Desert Days Rally
it’s sunday morning
Sunday, May 12th 2024 - Welcome to Issue 14 of our weekly email where we gather 3 style, art, travel or music links worth some time on a slow Sunday morning. Make a cup of coffee, find your favorite chair and cue the Velvet Underground… ✌️
“Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave”
ONE Guitar Moves
The best little guitar show - with the worst logo - is back!
After a few years of darkness, our favorite guitar show is back and better than ever. Host and guitarist Matt Sweeney spends time with guitar legends sharing stories and signature “guitar moves.” Josh Homme, Dan Auerbach, Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile, St. Vincent & J. Mascis have made appearances - to name just a few. We recommend starting at the top…and by that we mean Keith Richards. You can spend a few minutes or make more coffee and spend all morning. It’s a deep rabbit hole of guitar goodness and stoke. Sweeney’s got a vibe too. Enjoy. (10 to 1,000 min watch)
TWO A Southwest Turquoise Road Trip
The folks at Wildsam know how to tell a travel story.
How about a desert southwest road trip with a side of turquoise? Wildsam has quietly reinvented the travel book over the past decade. Think of a Lonely Planet guide book that is beautiful enough to keep and even display on your coffee table long after your trip. Naturally, their American Road Trip Series got our attention. Specifically the Desert Southwest volume. For some quick inspiration, enjoy some facts on our favorite desert gem compliments of the fine folks at Wildsam. (5 min read)
THREE Desert Days Rally
Aether Apparel throws an annual desert rally in Pioneertown north of Joshua Tree, CA that always gets us excited about Summer travels.
Aether clearly knows the power of a great photo. It would be easy to argue that their entire brand has been purposely built on beautiful pictures and their recent journal entry showcasing the seventh annual Desert Days Rally is no exception. This year has a bit of a Mad Max vibe to us and we dig it. Pictures and video here… (5 min watch)
