$58.00

34 -115 1 24 2 1 24 NORBY

The second installment of our limited edition B&W Photo Tee Shirt Series where we celebrate the beauty and simplicity of black and white photography and the photographers behind the camera. Each numbered piece is screen printed by hand in Bozeman, MT. Our Photo Tees are designed to be wearable collectibles.

This photo was made in January 2024 at Roy’s Motel & Cafe in Amboy, California on a dead end section of the famous US Route 66 highway that once connected Santa Monica to Chicago. Roy’s is an iconic piece of Americana and Mid-Century architecture in the middle of the Mojave Desert. The business once employed 70 people catering to the road trip wanderlust of 1950s America. Today, it hangs by a thread as this section of Route 66 succumbs to erosion, closures and oppressive heat. What once was a parade of chromed-out sedans adventuring west is now a trickle of wanderers rolling the dice on being stranded deep in the Mojave.

It is one of our favorite places.
